Park Moon-Hyun

Abstract
In Taoism, Lao-tzu was deified as ¡¯Tai Shang Lao Jun(÷¼ß¾ÒÇÏÖ)¡¯ and the book Lao-tzu was regarded as a bible in practicing Qigong(ѨÍí). There were recordings about Qigong(ѨÍí) before Lao-tzu. However, those didn¡¯t include philosophical basis. In the book Lao-tzu, it contains many theories to practice Qigong(ѨÍí) in order to attain longevity and anti-aging effect through breathing and a state of balance. Compare to the Qi(Ѩ) practice today is lean to physical exercise, Lao-tzu¡¯s Qigong(ѨÍí) theory of unification of mind and body is full of suggestions.
